For entertainment the village had the choice of two pubs and two clubs. Then there were the amateurs who covered most everything - the residents. Each year they staged a pantomime and they also formed a concert party called the 'Tit Bits', a Glee Union and a comic band. There was also a carnival with a fancy dress parade. These activities were most active in the period 1920-40. During World War Two things tailed off a bit but it was the advent of TV that killed off home-made entertainment.
