Keighley - a typical Pennine town?
George Sheeran works in the School of Lifelong Education at the University of Bradford where he is the head of the Pennine and Yorkshire Studies Unit. He teaches on the Local and Regional Studies Degree and his areas of research are the historic landscape and urban environment.

REVIEW
George Sheeran gave a very interesting talk on the development of Keighley during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries setting the scene for the introduction of the Public Library in 1904. About 20 people attended and were very interested in what he had to say. The talk was illustrated with slides and overheads.
