Memorial dedicated to John Tiplady Carrodus, local musician, situated on the wall outside the Reference Library. A Keighley News report (30.03.01) relates that 'by 1861 he was a member of the Royal Italian Opera orchestra at Covent Garden, with which he was to be associated for the rest of his life as principal first violin'. As well as becoming professor of violin at Trinity College London and president of the College of Violinists, John Carrodus was also the first to be awarded the freedom of Keighley Borough.
