The Alhambra Theatre in the 1970s.
Opened in March 1914, the Alhambra was constructed
on waste land at Morley Street, by Chadwick and Watson of Leeds.
The seating capacity was 1,800, it had a 35 foot wide stage and
a thickly carpeted ground floor. The tip-up seats in the pit were
upholstered to the same standards as the more expensive seats
in the stalls and dress circle.
